1. Petitioner has sought writ of mandamus to the effect that respondents be directed to appoint petitioner on compassionate basis. 2. Precisely the case of the petitioner is that his father was serving the respondents and passed away while in service on 16th September, 2003. Petitioner had applied for appointment on 8th September, 2004 (Annexure C). But respondents have not considered the case of the petitioner and have not redressed his grievances. 3. Respondents file reply and resisted the petition on the ground that two sisters and mother of the petitioner were major when the deceased died, but they did not file application seeking appointment. 4. Be that as it may, the fact of the matter is that petitioner who is a son of the deceased employee has applied within the prescribed timeframe and it is the respondents who have not considered his case right from 8th September, 2004 till filing of the writ petition. 5. In the given circumstances, respondents are directed to consider the case of the petitioner for his appointment on compassionate basis. The consideration order be passed within a period of eight weeks from the date copy of the order is made available to the respondents. 6. Disposed of along with all CMPs.
