Judgment :- 1. This Writ Petition is filed praying to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the records relating to the order passed by the second respondent in E6/15370/99 dated 5.7.2001 and quash the same and direct the second respondent to put the petitioner in additional charge of the Assistant Executive Engineer-Mechanical post. 2. At the time of admission, this Court granted interim stay on 21.4.2003 and the same was made absolute on 25.9.2003. 3. Though the writ petition has been filed challenging the impugned proceedings directing the petitioner to handover the charge to one Mr.Kirubakaran, Skilled Assistant, learned counsel for the petitioner now states that based on the request, the second respondent Commissioner has recommended the case of the petitioner to the Secretary to Government, Municipal Administration and Drinking Water Supply Department, Secretariat, Chennai through the first respondent by way of proposal in rp3/6526/2000 dated 23.5.2001. He, therefore, requests this Court to issue a direction to the Secretary to Government, Municipal Administration and Drinking Water Supply Department, Secretariat, Chennai to consider the said proposal. 4. In view of the above submission made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, without going into the merits of the petitioner's claim, the Secretary to Government, Municipal Administration and Drinking Water Supply Department, Secretariat, Chennai is directed to consider the above said proposal dated 23.5.2001 sent by the second respondent expeditiously, if not already considered. The Writ Petition is disposed of as above. No costs.
