Judgment : 1. In respect of an incident which took place on 03.11.2013, a case and a counter case have been registered for various offences. It is unnecessary to go into the facts in detail for the simple reason that these petitions can be disposed of on a short ground. 2. In these petitions, the respective persons who stand arrayed as accused in the respective crimes have impleaded the de facto complainant and the victim as 3rd respondent. The 3rd respondent in both the petitions have entered appearance and pointed out that the affidavits produced along with the respective petitions are sworn to by the respective deponents and they stand by the statements contained therein. 3. On going through the respective affidavits, it is seen that the parties have settled all the differences between them and they have no further grievance in the matter. It is also pointed out by the respective deponents that they do not wish to continue the proceedings. 4. Even though, the offences may not as such be compoundable, the fact remains that the respective victim and the de facto complainant have indicated that the issues have been settled between them and they are seeking a peaceful and calm life. They do not wish to continue the proceedings. In the light of the stand taken by the victims, it is felt that further continuance of proceedings will only be an exercise in futility. In the result, these petitions are allowed and all further proceedings in Crime Nos.1093 of 2013 and 1100 of 2013 of Kunnathunadu Police Station, shall stand quashed and all further proceedings against the petitioners shall stand dropped.
