JUDGMENT 1. - The instant misc. petition has been filed seeking quashing of FIR No. 125/2013 registered at the Police Station Talwara, District Hanumangarh for the offences under Sections 420, 406, and 477 IPC. 2. Both the learned counsel for the parties have submitted that the parties have decided to settle their disputes and arrived at a compromise in the matter and thus the impugned FIR should be quashed. 3. On 1.10.2013 this Court had directed the investigating Officer to have the fact of compromise verified and submit report to this Court. Learned Public Prosecutor has today submitted factual report as per which, the I.O. has verified the factum of the compromise arrived at between the parties. The dispute between the parties is in relation to monetary transaction regarding purchase of land and is more in the nature of a civil dispute. 4. In this view of the matter and looking to the guidelines issued by the Hon'ble Apex Court in the case of Gian Singh v. State of Punjab & Anr., reported in JT 2012(9) SC 426 it is apparent that further continuance of the proceedings of impugned FIR against the petitioner cannot be said to be expedient in the interest of justice. If the proceedings of impugned FIR are allowed to continue it may result into the compromise being unsettled. 5. Accordingly, the misc. petition is allowed. The FIR No. 125/2013, Police Station Talwara, District Hanumangarh is quashed.Petition Allowed. *******
