JUDGMENT 1. The prayer in this writ petition is seeking for a promotion with eligible pay hikes to the petitioner as Assistant from 16.11.2007. 2. The case of the petitioner is that he was appointed as the Section Clerk on 09.03.1984 on a consolidated pay. Again, he was re-posted as Land Surveyor on 22.07.1985. He was further posted as Junior Assistant on 29.02.1996 and thereafter he was relieved from Land Survey Department on 12.03.1996. He joined the Thiruppullani Division Nutritious Meal Office on 13.03.1996. His service as Junior Assistant was also regularized by the first respondent on 09.06.2003 and from 13.03.1996 onwards, the petitioner is working as Junior Assistant in the Social Welfare and Nutritious Meal Scheme Department. The petitioner also passed the Tamil Nadu Government Departmental Test and Accountancy Test Part-I. He had also undergone the Bhavanisagar Foundational Training. Therefore, the petitioner is eligible to be considered to the post of Selection Grade Junior Assistant. The petitioner is also entitled to get the promotion as Assistant. Similar appointees, who joined with the petitioner and got regularized with him were given the benefit of pay hikes with increments. Therefore, the petitioner made a representation on 23.02.2008, to the first respondent seeking for the relief as prayed in the writ petition. It is stated that the said representation has not been disposed of so far. 3. The only grievance of the petitioner is that the representation given on 23.02.2008, seeking for Selection Grade as well as further promotion to the post of Assistant has not been considered so far. Hence, without going into the other merits and claim made by the petitioner, I, only direct the first respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 23.02.2008 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 4. The writ petition is disposed of as above. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
