JUDGMENT :- 1. The petitioner was a Salesman in the TASMAC shop. He was dismissed from service by an order dated 19.11.2006. He preferred an appeal dated 20.11.2012 to the second respondent against the dismissal order. 2. Thereafter, he has filed this Writ Petition seeking for a direction to the second respondent to dispose of the appeal. 3. Heard both sides. 4. The learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that he wanted only disposal of the appeal dated 20.11.2012. On the other hand, the learned counsel for the respondents has submitted that the dismissal order itself states that the appeal should be filed within a period of one month but the petitioner preferred the appeal after a period of 6 years. Therefore, no useful purpose will be served in directing the second respondent to dispose of the appeal after 6 years. 5. There is no reason given for preferring the appeal after 6 years. I am not inclined to issue the direction as sought for by the petitioner in this Writ Petition. Hence, the Writ Petition fails and the same is dismissed. No costs.
