Judgment :- 1. This writ petition has been filed seeking to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 27.12.2012, and give water service connection to the petitioner's newly constructed houses, situated in R.S.No.496/8 of Perundurai Village, Erode District. 2. Mr.R.Ravichandran, learned Additional Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondent. 3. Though the prayer is for a larger relief, the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner had submitted that it would suffice, if the respondent is directed to dispose of the representation, dated 27.12.2012, on merits and in accordance with law, within a specified period. 4. The learned Additional Government Pleader, appearing on behalf of the respondent, has no objection for such an order being passed by this Court. 5. In view of the submissions made by the learned counsels appearing on either side, the respondent is directed to dispose of the representation, dated 27.12.2012, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after giving an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and the other persons concerned, if any. However, it is made clear that this Court, by this order, has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the matter. 6. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of, with the above directions. No costs.
