ORDER Heard the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner, as well as the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents. 2. This writ petition has been filed seeking to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to register the rectification deed, dated 11.4.2011, presented by the petitioner, before the 1st respondent, and to release the same. 3.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents had submitted that the Sub Registrar, Purasaiwakkam, Chennai, had issued a notice to the petitioner, directing him to explain as to how the document presented for registration, is a rectification deed. The petitioner has also been directed to produce the necessary proof for registering the document, as a rectification deed, instead of as a settlement deed. At that stage, the petitioner has approached this Court, by filing the present writ petition. 4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court finds it appropriate to grant two weeks' time, for the petitioner to appear in person and to furnish the proof before the Sub Registrar, Purasaiwakkam, Chennai, to show that the document presented for registration, by him, is a rectification deed, as claimed by him. On the petitioner appearing in person and furnishing such proof, the Sub Registrar, Purasaiwakkam, Chennai, shall consider the same and pass appropriate orders thereon, within a period of eight weeks thereafter. If the petitioner fails to appear in person and furnish the necessary proof, it would be open to the authority concerned to take appropriate action, as per law. The writ petition is ordered accordingly. No costs.
