Judgment :- 1. This Contempt Petition has been filed praying that this Court may be pleased to punish the respondents for having disobeyed the order passed by this Court, on 25.6.2012, in W.P.No.14595 of 2011. 2. The main contention of the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner is that, in spite of the order passed by this Court, on 25.6.2012, directing the respondents to restore the land in question, to the petitioner, within a period of four weeks, after the petitioner had returned the amount of Rs.2,15,163/-, to the 2nd respondent, the respondents have not complied with the order passed by this Court, on 25.6.2012. 3. On issuance of notice, the District Collector, Villupuram, is present in Court, today. The learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of the respondents had placed before this Court, the proceedings issued by the 1st respondent, dated 10.7.2013, wherein it has been stated that directions had been issued to hand over the lands in Survey Nos.72/1, 72/2A and 73/2B, in Pillur village, Villupuram District, to the owner of the lands in question. It had also been submitted that the respondents had not willfully disobeyed the order passed by this Court, on 25.6.2012, in W.P.No.14595 of 2011. In fact, it had taken some time for the 1st respondent to issue the direction, to hand over the lands in question, to its owners, due to certain administrative procedures. It had also been submitted that the delay caused by the respondents, in handing over the possession of the lands, to its owners, is neither willful nor wanton. 4. In view of the submissions made by the learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of the respondents, and in view of the fact that the 1st respondent had passed the order, dated 10.7.2013, directing the handing over of the possession of the lands in question, to its owners, no further orders are necessary in the present contempt petition. Hence, the Contempt Petition stands closed. No costs.
