Judgment :- 1. In view of the narrow prayer made in the Writ Petition, the Writ Petition is taken up for final hearing. 2. Heard both sides. 3. The petitioner was appointed as Grade I Police Constable in Tanjore District and joined on 1.2.1972. 4. He was transferred to Nagapattinam District in 1977. 5. While, the petitioner was transferred to Nagapattinam District, according to the petitioner, he was not properly fixed in the seniority list. In view of the same, his juniors got promotion to higher post and he did not get higher post. The petitioner retired from service on 30.7.2006 as Sub-Inspector of Police. 6. The petitioner has now made a representation dated 8.3.2012 to correct the alleged irregularities that took place during 1977. 7. According to the petitioner, if he was correctly fixed in the seniority list in the year 1977, he could have been promoted as Deputy Superintendent of Police as his juniors were promoted as Deputy Superintendents of Police. 8. I am not going into the merits of the allegation. The petitioner has slept over more than 35 years. Now, he cannot come to seek the correction in the seniority list that was relatable to 1977. Hence, I am not inclined to issue any direction as sought for by the petitioner in the Writ Petition. 9. In view of all the above, the Writ Petition is dismissed. No costs.
