JUDGMENT 1. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner as well as the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents. 2. At this stage of the hearing of the contempt petition, the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents had submitted that the letter No.S4(2)/46874/2006, dated 20.7.2012, had been issued in compliance with the order passed by this Court, on 29.1.2007, in W.P.No.33844 of 2004. The seniority of the petitioner had been fixed taking the base year and the petitioner had been promoted as a Junior Engineer in the year, 2007. She had also placed a copy of the letter, dated 20.7.2012, before this Court. It has also been pointed out that the petitioner had received the said letter, on 16.8.2012. In such circumstances, this Court is of the considered view that the order passed by this Court, on 29.1.2007, in W.P.No.33844 of 2004, had been complied with by the respondent. As no further orders are necessary, the contempt petition stands closed. However, it goes without saying that it would be open to the petitioner to challenge the letter, dated 20.7.2012, issued by the Government of Tamil Nadu, Public Works Department, if so advised, in the manner known to law. No costs.
