Judgment 1. The petitioner seeks for a direction to the respondents to give promotion to the post of Checking Inspector with retrospective effect from 17.05.2008, on which date his juniors were given promotion. 2. It is stated by the petitioner that seeking for such relief, the petitioner had already approached the second respondent by way of his representation, dated 19.02.2010 and the same has not been disposed of so far. The petitioner had already approached the respondents, more particularly the second respondent. It is for him to consider the same and pass orders on merits, since the petitioner is seeking only promotion to him retrospectively. It is further stated that after making such representation, the petitioner had also retired from service on 30.04.2010. 3. Therefore, I only direct the second respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 19.02.2010 without any further delay and pass orders on the same and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 4. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
