Judgment : 1. The prayer sought for in this writ petition is seeking for a mandamus forbearing the respondents from erecting high tension electricity transformer in the street margin of Ist Avenue Salai in Okkiam Thoraipakkam, Kannagi Nagar Scheme, Chennai 600 096. 2. According to the petitioner, he has been allotted a plot No.3193 in Okkiam Thoraipakkam, Kannagi Nagar Scheme by Tamilnadu Slum Clearance Board. The respondents herein were taking steps to erect a high tension electricity transformer in front of the tenements of the petitioner and other occupants. The tenements are constructed by Tamilnadu Slum Clearance Board in a small lane of 10 feet width. If the high power electricity tension lines were placed or erected near the petitioner's residence, it would pose danger to the public and such attempt of erecting the transformer was made without the consent of the local authorities. Thus, the grievance of the petitioner is that the transformer should not be erected by the respondents in the street margin. 3. It is now represented by the learned counsel appearing for the respondents that only pillars have been erected and the transformer is not erected so far in the disputed place. As the petitioner apprehends that such erection of the transformer near the petitioner's residence would affect the public, it is for the petitioner to make a fresh representation to the respondents and the same shall have to be considered by them on merits and in accordance with law. 4. Therefore, without expressing any view on the merits of the matter, I only direct the petitioner to make a fresh representation to the respondents within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On receipt of such representation, the respondents shall consider the same and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of four weeks thereafter. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
