Judgment 1. The prayer in the writ petition is as follows: The petitioner herein is seeking for a mandamus to forbear the respondents from interfering with the petitioner's right to quarry and transport granite on payment of necessary seigniorage during the currency of the lease in respect of petitioner's patta lands totally measuring 0.94 acres in S.Nos.7/4(part) (0.14 acre), 6/5A part (0.05 acre) and 6/3C part (0.75 acre) in Karnampoondi Village, Tiruvannamalai Taluk, Tiruvannamalai Sambuvarayar District. 2. It is seen from the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition that the lease period was ten years i.e., from 09.02.1996 to 08.02.2006. Therefore, the lease period itself is over as of now. 3. Considering the said fact, I find that nothing survives in the writ petition to adjudicate upon further. Therefore, the writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. No costs. The connected miscellaneous petition is also dismissed.
