Judgment : 1. The prayer in this writ petition is as follows : The petitioner herein is seeking for a mandamus to forbear the respondents from in anyway interfering with the petitioner's right to continue quarry operations and transport granite from Government quarry lands totally measuring 2-95-5 Hectares, comprised in Survey Nos.677/1, 677/2 and 677/4, situated in Chennampatty village, Bhavani Taluk, Erode District (formerly Periyar District) till the disposal of the petitioner's renewal application dated 26.08.2004. 2. Now, it is represented by the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents that the petitioner's renewal application dated 26.08.2004 was already rejected by the Government through its letter No.20984/MMB2/2005-1 dated 01.03.2006. He has also produced the xerox copy of the said letter before this Court. 3. A perusal of the said letter shows that the petitioner's application seeking for renewal of the above said quarry was rejected by the Government. Since the renewal application was already rejected by the Government, I find that nothing survives in this writ petition to adjudicate upon further. Therefore, the prayer in the writ petition has become infructuous and accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. No costs. The connected miscellaneous petition is also dismissed.
