ORDER : 1. Rule. Learned APP, Mrs. Hansa Punani wavies service of notice of Rule on behalf of the Respondent. 2. By way of the present Application, the convict-Zakirhussain @ Raju Gulam Mayuddin Shaikh is present before the Court and requested to extend his parole leave which has been granted by this Court vide order dated 27.12.2012 in Special Criminal Application No. 3344 of 2012. The petitioner-convict was granted parole leave for a period of 3 weeks, so that, he can engage a private lawyer for filing Criminal Appeal against the conviction order. The convict submits that he could not manage funds for engaging a private lawyer and therefore, parole leave may be extended. 3. I have gone through the jail record as well as jail conduct of the convict. It appears that the petitioner was convicted under the provisions of NDPS Act and was sentenced for 10 years. The petitioner has undergone sentence of about 5 years and 10 months and his jail conduct is found to be good. Considering the overall facts and circumstances of the case, I am of the opinion that the parole leave which has been granted by this Court on 27.12.2012 is hereby extended for a period of three weeks on the same terms and conditions. 4. Rule is made absolute. Direct service is permitted.
