Judgment : 1. This writ petition is directed against the order dated 02.10.2013 whereby and whereunder the respondent rejected the request made by the petitioner to hold a meeting near Kamatchiamman Thirumana Mandapam at Tirupur. The said order is now under challenge. 2. The learned senior counsel for the petitioner contended that the petitioner was discriminated by the respondent in the matter of holding public meeting. 3. The learned Additional Government Pleader, on instructions, submitted that the police has no objection to permit the petitioner to hold a meeting in case the meeting place is changed to Royapuram Rountana, Union Mill Road, Tirupur, which is the place earmarked for meeting. 4. The petitioner is given liberty to make a fresh application for holding a public meeting at Royapuram Rountana, Union Mill Road, Tirupur. 5. The respondent is directed to consider and dispose of the application on merits and as per law in the light of the submission recorded above. Such exercise shall be completed within two days from the date of receipt of application. It is open to the respondent to impose reasonable conditions, to maintain peace and tranquility in the area in question. The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
