Order: 1. C.R.P.(MD)No.1765 of 2012 has been filed to get struck off the petition in Election O.P.No.130 of 2011, pending on the file of the Principal District Judge, Thanjavur. 2. C.R.P.(MD)NO.1907 of 2012 has been filed to get set aside the order dated 13.08.2012 passed in I.A.No.41 of 2012 in E.L.O.P.No.130 of 2011 by the learned Principal District Judge, Thanjavur. 3. Today, when the matters have been posted under the caption "for orders", Mr.R.Velmurugan, learned Government Advocate appearing for the Returning Officer cum Panchayat Union Commissioner and Mr.K.Govindarajan, learned Counsel appearing for the first respondent in C.R.P.(MD)NO.1907 of 2012, have been present. The respective learned Counsel for the petitioner in both the petitions, are found not present. 3. Absolutely, there is no progress or interest shown on the side of the petitioners in both the Civil Revision Petitions in prosecuting the matters. The Election O.P. has to be disposed of by the District Judge concerned expeditiously as it has become proverbial, that such applications are not disposed of even after the expiry of elected term itself. 4. Hence, I would like to dismiss both the Civil Revision Petitions and the lower Court is directed to dispose of the Election O.Ps where permissible preferably within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petitions are dismissed. No costs.
