Rakesh Kumar Jain, J. (ORAL);— The petitioners have approached this Court seeking direction to respondents No.1 to 3 to protect their lives and liberty. Petitioner No.1 was born on 05.06.1984 whereas petitioner No.2 was born on 25.02.1994. The photographs of their marriage are also placed on record along with their birth proofs. After solemnizing their marriage on 5.6.2013, they gave an application to SSP Kapurthala on 11.06.2013 expressing their fear that due to their marriage which is against the wishes of the parents of the girl, they would not be physically harmed by them. Keeping in view the facts and the law laid down by the Supreme Court in the case of “Lata Singh Vs. State of UP and another” 2006 (5) SCC 475 present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 to look into the grievance of the petitioners which is enumerated in their application dated 11.6.2013 and if it is found that there is any threat to their lives and liberty, adequate protection should be provided to them.
