JUDGMENT 1. Since, the issues involved in all the writ petitions are similar in nature, they have been taken up together and a common order is being passed. 2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, as well as the learned counsels appearing for the respondents. 3. At this stage of the hearing of the writ petitions, the learned counsels appearing for the respondents had submitted that the first respondent would give the electricity service connection in the name of the petitioners, in respect of the properties in question, as per Regulation 27(4) of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Distribution Code, 2004, within a specified time. 4. In view of the submissions made by the learned counsels appearing for the parties concerned, and in view of the records available, the first respondent is directed to grant electricity service connection to the petitioners, as prayed for by them, in the present writ petitions, under Regulation 27(4) of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Distribution Code, 2004, on their submitting the necessary applications and on production of the required records, and on payment of the charges due to be paid by them, for the grant of the electricity service connections. On the petitioners fulfilling the necessary requirements, the first respondent is to grant the electricity service connections, within a period of eight weeks thereafter. 5. However, it is made clear that the grant of electricity service connections to the premises of the petitioners, by the respondent Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, shall not, in any way, vest any additional right or interest in the petitioners, in respect of the properties in question. Further, it would not be open to the petitioners to claim that they had established their title, in respect of the properties concerned, by obtaining the electricity service connection from the respondent Tamil Nadu Electricity Board. The writ petitions are disposed of accordingly. No costs.
