ORDER : ORDER DATED 24-1-2014 INDIAN WOMAN SAYS GANG-RAPED ON ORDERS of VILLAGE COURT PUBLISHED IN BUSINESS & FINANCIAL NEWS DATED 23.01.2014 1. The news item published in the Business & Financial News is taken on the file of this Court. The District Judge, Birbhum District, West Bengal, is directed to inspect the concerned place and submit a report to this Court within a period of one week from today. List on 31st January, 2014. 2. The Registry is directed to communicate this order to the District judge immediately. ORDER DATED 31-1-2014 3. Pursuant to our direction dated 24th January, 2014 the District Judge, Birbhum District, West Bengal, alongwith Chief Judicial Magistrate and Team of Persons inspected the place in question and submitted a report to this Court. In the report, we do not find any information about the steps taken by the Police against the persons concerned. 4. Accordingly, we direct the Registrar of this Court to forward a copy of the Report of the District Judge, Birbhum, West Bengal, to the Chief Secretary, West Bengal and who in turn submit a detailed report and the follow up action by the Police concerned to this Court within a period of two weeks. 5. List on 14th February, 2014. 6. Mr. Sidharth Luthra, learned Additional Solicitor General is requested to assist the Court. Registry is directed to supply a copy of the Report as well as Suo Motu direction to Mr. Sidharth Luthra, A.S.G. Registry is directed to include the copy of the Report in the paper book.
