JUDGMENT 1. For the injuries sustained and the consequential disablement suffered, vide Judgment and Decree dated 30.10.2012 in M.C.O.P.No.246 of 2008, the Claims Tribunal has awarded Rs.6,88,000/- with interest @ 7.5% per annum, from the date of claim, till the date of realisation. 2. On this day, when the matter came up for hearing, Mr.Gopi, representing the learned counsel on record Mr.Jeyapal, stated to have filed a vakalath on 27.06.2014, submitted that after negotiation, the Claimant Mr.Elumalai, has agreed for reduction of compensation by Rs.2,00,000/- and further agreed to receive Rs.4,88,000/-with interest @ 7.5% per annum, with cost of Rs.21,662/-. He has also produced an undated letter written by Mr.K.Kathiravan, learned counsel on record for the appellant / Divisional Manager, M/s.National Insurance Company Limited, No.111, Nehru Street, Pondicherry. This Court has perused the undated letter. Signatures of both Elumalai, respondent/claimant and Mr.K.Kathiravan, learned counsel for the appellant, have been affixed. Oral submissions have also been advanced by Mr.Gopi, learned representing counsel on record for the respondent/claimant. Undated letter stated supra, shall form part of the record. In the light of the above submission, no further adjudication is requiredon the issues raised. In the light of the above, there shall be a reduction on the quantum of compensation of Rs.4,88,000/- with interest @7.5% per annum with cost of Rs.21,662/-only. Inasmuch as the compensation amount has not been deposited so far, there shall be a direction to the M/s.National Insurance Company Limited, No.111, Nehru Street, Pondicherry, the appellant herein, to deposit the amount with interest and costs, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On such deposit being made, the respondent/claimant is permitted to withdraw the amount, by making necessary applications. Accordingly, this Civil Miscellaneous Appeal is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
