Judgment 1. This petition has been filed, to direct the respondents particularly the second respondent to provide adequate police protection during the kodai festival to the deity by name Arulmighu Arunachalaperi Sudalaimada Samy Temple at B.Maruthapuram, Narayanapuram Village, Alankulam Taluk, Tirunelveli District in the Tamil Month of Aani 2014 to the general public as well as two other participants in the said festival. 2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing on behalf of the respondents. 3. On notice, the Special Sub Inspector of Police from the respondent police appeared. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. side) would submit that the respondent would consider the representation of the petitioner and give adequate police protection. 4. This Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent police to provide adequate police protection and also see that there is no rival group and ensure peaceful conduct of festival.
