Judgment : S. Rajeswaran, J. This petition has been filed by the petitioner, who is the father of the detenue, to produce his daughter by name A.Navamani, aged about 27 years, who is said to have been in the illegal custody of the second respondent. The respondent-Police produced the detenue before this Court. 2. On enquiry, the detenue being a major, aged about 27 years, denies all the allegations made by the petitioner against the second respondent. She also states that she is in Namakkal on her own and she does not want to go along with her father. The detenue also made it clear, that too in the presence of her father, the petitioner herein, that she wants to live her own life. 3. In the light of the categorical statement made by the detenue, a major, this Court is not inclined to pass any order, excepting closing the petition and setting the detenue at liberty. It is represented that an FIR has been registered in this regard. In the light of the above, the respondent-Police shall close the FIR in accordance with law. 4. The Investigation Officer is also present before this Court and the presence of the Investigation Officer is recorded. 5. In the result, the petition is closed.
