Judgment 1. The petitioner is stated to be the legal representative of Thiru. P. Renganathan, who was employed as Assistant Agriculture Officer in the Office of the Assistant Director of Agriculture, Orathanadu. The father of the petitioner died on 07.05.2010, leaving behind the petitioner, her brothers and mother. The mother of the petitioner originally submitted an application for compassionate appointment. Subsequently, the petitioner submitted another application claiming compassionate appointment. The present prayer is to consider and dispose of the representation dated 18.03.2014. 2. The fourth respondent in his counter affidavit and more particularly in paragraph No.4 agreed to consider the application. Paragraph No.4 of the counter reads as follows: “The writ petitioner's mother made an application for compassionate appointment on 13.07.2011 before our office. The writ petitioner also made an application before the respondents 2 to 4 on 18.03.2014. The application is under due consideration. Considering age, qualification, availability of vacancies and the financial status of the petitioner the order will be passed by the respondents within a period of four months. The writ petitioner's application will be forwarded to the higher official to pass an order on merits and in accordance with law.” 3. The first respondent is directed to consider and dispose of the application, submitted by the petitioner for compassionate appointment, on merits such exercise shall be completed within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 4. The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
