This Writ Petition has been filed praying that this Court may be pleased to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to permit the petitioner, to conduct a cart race, on 15.08.2014, at Velidupatti Village, Villathikulam Taluk, Thoothukudi District. 2. At this stage of the hearing of the writ petition, the learned Special Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents 2 and 3 had submitted that the petitioner had given a letter, dated 30.07.2014, addressed to the Inspector of Police, the third respondent herein, stating that the cart race would not be conducted, on 15.08.2014. However, it had been further submitted, by the learned Special Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents 2 and 3 that, the other programmes scheduled to be held, on 15.08.2014, have been permitted by the authorities concerned. 3. In view of the said submission made by the learned Special Government Pleader, appearing on behalf of the respondents 2 and 3, no further orders are necessary in this Writ Petition. Accordingly, the present Writ Petition stands closed. No costs.
