Judgment : 1. The petitioner got married with one Ms.Pandian Anandhi D/o. Pandian on 09.01.2014 and the same was registered before the Joint Registrar-I, Kumbakonam on 27.01.2014. The said Anandhi's father has filed H.C.P. before this Court in H.C.P.No.78 of 2014 and she was produced before this Court. On production, the petitioner's wife namely the said Anandhi made a statement that the petitioner did not kidnap her and she voluntarily went with him and got married. Recording the above statement the said H.C.P was closed. 2. When things stood so, based on the complaint of the Anandhi's father and brothers, the respondent police and the family members of the Anandhi are harassing and threatening the petitioner and his wife and not allowing the petitioner to enter into the village. Therefore, the petitioner gave a complaint on 28.03.2014. In spite of that, the respondents did not give any police protection. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court. 3. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) would submit that the respondents are ready to give police protection. 4. Heard the learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondents. 5. The facts narrated above would show that the petitioner got married the said Anandhi legally and if there is a threat to the petitioner and the family members of the petitioner, it is bounden duty of the respondent police to give police protection. 6. With the above direction, the Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous petition is closed.
