Judgment 1. The husband of the petitioner by name Anandaraju worked as Fertilizer Salesman in Tamil Nadu Primary Agricultural Co-operative Credit Society. He was promoted as Secretary with effect from 01.01.2004. The husband of the petitioner died on 09.05.2007, while he was functioning as Secretary, leaving the petitioner and two minor children as legal representatives. 2. The petitioner submitted an application for compassionate appointment. The petitioner received a reply from the Deputy Registrar of Co-operative Societies, Pattukkottai dated 02.02.2011 informing that necessary action would taken by the Special Officer of the Society. However, there was no follow-up action taken by the third respondent, who is said to be the President of the Society. 3. The petitioner seeks a writ of mandamus directing the second respondent to consider and dispose of her application dated 22.12.2013. 4. The second respondent is directed to consider and dispose of the application submitted by the petitioner for compassionate appointment on merits and as per law. Such exercise shall be completed within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5. The petitioner is directed to forward a copy of the proceedings filed in the typed set of papers along with a copy of this order, so as to enable the second respondent to dispose of the matter at the earliest. 6. The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
