Judgment : M. Jaichandren, J. 1. Heard Mr.G.Ganesh Kumar, the learned Counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner, Mr.M.Govindan, the learned Special Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the first respondent and Mr.J.Gunaseelan Muthiah, the learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of the second respondent. 2. At this stage of the hearing of the writ petition, the learned Counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner had submitted that it would suffice, if the representation of the petitioner, dated 14.06.2014, is directed to be disposed of, by the first respondent, on merits and in accordance with law, within a specified period. 3. The learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of the second respondent had submitted that the channel had already been constructed contrary to the allegations made by the petitioner. However, we find it appropriate to direct the first respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 14.06.2014, on merits. 4. In view of the averments made in the affidavit filed in support of this writ petition and in view of the submissions made by the learned Counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner, the first respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 14.06.2014, on merits and in accordance with law, and pass appropriate orders thereon, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after affording sufficient opportunity of hearing to the parties concerned. The petitioner is directed to furnish a copy of the representation, dated 14.06.2014, to the first respondent, along with a copy of this order. However, it is made clear, that this Court, by this order, has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the matter. 5. The writ petition stands disposed of, with the above directions. No costs.
