Order 1. The petitioner is the widow of Thiru. E. Ravindran, the Village Assistant of Vellimalai Village, Kalkulam Taluk, Kanyakumari District. He died on 12.09.1995, while in service. He is survived by the petitioner and daughters. 2. The petitioner submitted an application on 18.01.2000, requesting the first respondent to sanction pension and disburse death cum retirement benefits. The application was forwarded by the first respondent to the third respondent, vide proceedings dated 19.11.2010 and 13.02.2012. However, there was no follow-up action thereafter. 3. The first respondent is directed to consider and dispose of the application submitted by the petitioner on merits and as per law. In case, the petitioner is not eligible for family pension, she should be given the death cum retirement benefits, besides gratuity. Such exercise shall be completed within a period of three months from the date of receipt of copy of this order. 4. The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction connected M.P.No.1 of 2013 is also closed. No costs.
