Judgment: Heard on admission. 2. Petitioner, vide this petition, seeks direction to the respondents to consider claim of the petitioner for appointment on compassionate ground in lieu of death of his father. 3. Petitioner's father, a Line Assistant Grade II posted at T.L.M. Sub-Division M.P. Power Transmission Co. Ltd., Seoni, died in harness on 21.2.2011. Mother of the petitioner did not apply for compassionate appointment. It is stated that on 23.4.2011 the petitioner moved an application for grant of compassionate appointment and when the same was not considered, this writ petition has been filed. 4. Trite it is that the appointment on compassionate ground in lieu of death of a government servant is not a right but a mean to retrieve the family from immediate financial crisis which they may get into on the death of a bread earner, thus, the appointment on compassionate ground is an exception rather than rule of law. 5. In the case at hand, no policy of the M.P. Power Transmission Company Ltd. has been commended at as would entitle the petitioner, whose father had expired on 21.2.2011, for consideration of appointment on compassionate ground. 6. In view whereof, since no relief can be granted to the petitioner, the petition is dismissed. No costs.
