Judgment M. Jaichandren, J. 1. Heard Mr. S. Ramasamy, the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner and Mr. C. Selvaraj, the learned Special Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents 1 and 2. 2. This Writ Petition has been filed praying that this Court may be pleased to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 and 2 to initiate appropriate proceedings against the respondent No.3, in connection with the contract work granted, vide proceedings No.505/JDO/2013, dated 16.09.2013, for laying of the road, from R.S. Mangalam-Ilayankudi till Vadavaneri. 3. The petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition, as a Public Interest Litigation, stating that the third respondent has not laid the road, as per the prescription. The quality of materials used for the laying of the road is far below the standards specified by the authorities concerned. 4. At this stage of the hearing of the Writ Petition, the learned Special Government Pleader appearing on behalf of respondents 1 and 2 had submitted that the road work in question had not commenced. In such circumstances, we are of the considered view that no further orders are necessary in this Writ Petition. Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands closed. No costs. Consequently, connected M.P.(MD) No.1 of 2014, is closed.
