JUDGMENT M. VENUGOPAL, J. 1. There is no representation for the petitioner. 2. Mr. V. Murugangandam, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents. 3. According to the petitioner, in his village, Kodangipatti, Srivilliputhur Taluk, Virudhunagar District, there is a temple called Arulmigu Jakkadevi Thirukovil. The temple is of ancient origin and has a rich heritage and every year during Puratasi Thiruvizha festival would be conducted in a grant manner. Further, for well over 50 years, cultural activities were conducted during all festivals. 4. The stand of the petitioner is that the Puratasi Thiruvizha Festival of Arulmigu Jakkadevi Thirukovil situated at Kodangipatti Village, Srivilliputhur Taluk, Virudhunagar District falls on 08.10.2014. For the past numerous years, the cultural programmes were conducted and the petitioner has proposed to conduct cultural activities, traditional songs and Adalum Padalum programme on 08.10.2014. 5. At this juncture, the learned Additional Government Pleader for respondents 1 and 2 submits that the petitioner's detailed representation dated 01.10.2014 is pending on the file of second respondent Sub Inspector of Police, Vanniyampatti Police Station, Virudhunagar District and till today, the same is not yet disposed of. Taking into account the fact that the petitioner's representation dated 01.10.2014 seeking permission to conduct Adalum Padalum dance programme on 08.10.2014 from 6.00 p.m. to 12.00 p.m. is pending on the file of second respondent, as on date, this Court, based on Equity, Fair play, Good Conscience and even as a matter of prudence, directs the second respondent/ Sub Inspector of Police, Vanniyampatti Police Station, Virudhunagar District to dispose of the representation today itself (08.10.2014) before 4.00 p.m. on merits and in accordance with law and to communicate the decision to the petitioner forthwith. With the aforesaid directions, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
