Jaswinder Singh v. State of Punjab

2014-05-16

A.K.SIKRI, B.S.CHAUHAN

body2014
ORDER : B.S. Chauhan, J. This is an appeal against conviction. None was present yesterday on behalf of the appellant to press the appeal and Mr. Jayant Kumar Sud, advocate was present on behalf of the respondent. Therefore, the matter was passed over for today. 2. Even today, none is present on behalf of the appellant to press the appeal. It appears from the record that the appellant might have served the entire sentence during trial and after the conviction by the High Court as the appellant had been acquitted by the trial court under Section 18 of the Narcotic Drugs & Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 after about 4 years from his arrest. 3. As none is present on behalf of the appellant to press the appeal, it is dismissed in default for non- prosecution.
