Judgment : M. Jaichandren, J. 1. Heard the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners and the learned Government Advocate, appearing on behalf of the respondents. 2. At this stage of the hearing of the writ petition, the learned Government Advocate, appearing on behalf of the respondents, had submitted that the Under Secretary to Government, Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department, has sent a communication to the District Collector, Tirunelveli, dated 3.2.2014, asking him to furnish a report, with regard to the issuance of a certificate relating to the claim of the petitioners that they belong to Hindu Kattunayakan Community. The learned Government Advocate had further submitted that, as soon as the report is submitted by the District Collector, Tirunelveli, the second respondent would pass appropriate orders, after conducting an enquiry. 3. In view of the submissions made by the learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of the respondents, the second respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 21.1.2014, and pass appropriate orders thereon, on merits and in accordance with law, after receiving the report from the District Collector, Tirunelveli, relating to the issuance of a Community Certificate, as requested by the petitioners. The second respondent shall pass appropriate orders, as directed by this Court, as expeditiously as possible, after giving an opportunity of hearing to the petitioners. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
