Judgment M. Jaichandren, J. 1. Heard the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners, as well as the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent. 2. The petitioners pray for the issuance of a Writ in the nature of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to pass orders on the application of the petitioner, dated 5.6.2012, for the issuance of a community certificate to the petitioners stating that they belong to "Kattunayakan (ST) Community, based upon the community certificate already issued to the petitioner's father. 3. The learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners had submitted that it would suffice if the respondent is directed to dispose of the application submitted by the petitioner, on 5.6.2012, on merits and in accordance with law, within the time specified by this Court. 4. The learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice on behalf of the respondent. 5. The learned Additional Government Pleader, appearing on behalf of the respondent, has no objection for this Court passing such order. 6. In such circumstances, we find it appropriate to direct the respondent to consider and dispose of the application of the 1st petitioner, dated 5.6.2012, on merits and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible, not later than eight weeks from the date of reeipt of a copy of this order. 7. The first petitioner shall furnish the copy of the application, dated 5.6.2012, to the respondent, along with a copy of this order. However, it is made clear that this court, by this order, has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the matter. 8. The writ petition is disposed of, with the above direction. No costs.
