ORDER : 1. Leave granted. 2. This appeal is directed against the judgment and order dated 2.03.2009 passed in Appeal Suit No. 325 of 2000 by the High Court of Madras whereby the compensation determined by the reference Court was reduced from Rs.20 per sq. ft. to Rs.8 per Sq. ft. The said judgment is under challenge before this Court urging various grounds. 3. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the appellants relied upon the judgment of this Court in Valliyammal and Anr. v. Special Tahsildar (Land Acquisition) and Anr., submitted that in the said case this Court has interfered with the judgment of the Appellate Court and redetermined the market value at Rs.12 per sq. ft. He further submits that the land in the case of the appellants was acquired on the same Notification dated 15.04.1991 and 27.05.1991 which were under challenge in Valliyammal case (supra). 4. Since the issue raised in the present appeal is squarely covered by the judgment relied upon by the appellants herein, we allow this appeal in terms of the judgment in Valliyammal's case. The respondents are directed to pay compensation to the appellants in terms of the judgment in Valliyammal's case. 5. Accordingly, the appeal is allowed in the aforesaid terms.
