JUDGMENT Heard. This petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India filed by the petitioners, who are said to have entered into wedlock on 26.05.2014 seeks direction for grant of protection against unnecessary harassment and intimidation merely because the petitioners have married each other. Both the petitioners herein have claimed themselves to be more than 18 years of age at the time of solemnization of marriage in question. In view of the decision of the Apex Court in the case of Lata Singh Vs. State of Uttar Pradesh (2006) 5 SCC 475 , this writ petition stands disposed of with a following direction :- “In case the petitioners request for Police protection against undue harassment and intimidation arising merely on account of the marriage having solemnized by the petitioners, then the authorities would provide the necessary protection as per Law subject to the petitioners furnishing documentary proof as regards both the petitioners being major at the time of solemnization of the marriage.” Certified Copy as per rules.
