JUDGMENT : The interlocutory application for permission to file additional documents is allowed. 2. Mr. Tushar Mehta, learned Additional Solicitor General, has handed over to us a copy of communication No. MCI-37(1)(RI-89)(UG)/2014-Med./127/90 dated 17th August, 2015, which is addressed to the Secretary, Government of India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. In this communication, it is mentioned that the Executive Committee of the Medical Council of India (hereinafter referred to as MCI) in its meeting held on 17th August, 2015, has decided to renew the permission for admission of second batch of MBBS students against the increased intake, i.e., from 100 to 150 under Section 10A of the IMC Act, 1956, in respect of Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences, Pondicherry, under the Pondicherry University for the academic year 2015-2016. 3. Ms. Pinky Anand, learned Additional Solicitor General who is appearing for the Union of India, has also been handed over a copy of the said communication. 4. Once, this resolution is passed by the MCI, we expect the Central Government to take immediate decision thereon preferably within one week. 5. We place on record that the MCI has taken the aforesaid decision in the peculiar facts of this case. Since the grievance of the petitioner has been redressed, the writ petition stands disposed of.
