JUDGMENT : 1. The petitioner is a minor represented through her father. Petitioner is a 9th standard student in G.H.S.S., Mathil, Payyanur. The petitioner wants to correct her name in the school records. She made a representation in that regard to the 2nd respondent—the Joint Commissioner. Her request has been considered by the 2nd respondent vide Ext. P-l1 and the petitioner has been directed to move the Headmaster/Headmistress of the school after gazette notification. The petitioner submits that her request also has been declined by the 4th respondent-Headmistress. The petitioner approached this Court aggrieved by Ext. P-ll direction. 2. As per the Circular issued by the Commissioner of Government Examination dated 22-9-2012 based on the Government Order No.323 dated 16-2-2012, the authority to correct the school records of the student from 1st standard to 10th standard who are on the roll, is Headmaster/Headmistress. The circular prescribes the method in which such application has to be filed. 3. Therefore, I am of the view that the petitioner has to approach the 4th respondent and has to remit necessary fee for the same. The petitioner shall make a request in the prescribed format in accordance with the circular referred as above. If the petitioner makes such a request before the 4th respondent-Headmistress, necessary action shall be taken to correct the school records in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks thereafter. The writ petition is disposed of with the above directions.
