JUDGMENT Manoj Kumar Gupta, J. The grievance of the petitioners is that Civil Appeal No.2 of 1991 is pending since last 24 years and has not been disposed of so far by the appellate court. 2. It is submitted that the lower appellate court is not proceeding with the hearing of the appeal in view of an interim order dated 16.3.2012 passed by this Court in Writ-C No.12997 of 2012. By the said order, this Court stayed the operation of the orders dated 8.12.2011 and 21.2.2012. According to learned counsel for the petitioners, by the aforesaid orders, the application for additional evidence was rejected. He, therefore, submits that there was no stay of the proceedings before the appellate court. 3. Considering the facts of the case and the submissions made, this petition is disposed of with liberty to the petitioners to approach the appellate court with a specific request for deciding the appeal, drawing its attention to the fact that there is no interim order staying the proceedings of the appeal. It is further provided that in case, any application in that regard is made, the appellate court shall pass a reasoned order on such application and in case, it comes to the conclusion that the proceedings have not been stayed, it may proceed to decide the appeal in accordance with law. With these observations and directions, the petition stands disposed of.
