body2015
Order This Writ Petition has been filed by S. Karthikeyan, who was not passed M.A., (Economics) on the date of notification issued by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission on 10.01.2013 inviting applications for recruitment to the post of Assistant Director of Statistics in Tamil Nadu Statistics Service, seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing respondent to consider him for appointment to the post of Assistant Director of Statistics pursuant to the Notification No.1/2013, dated 10.01.2013. 2. Mr. K.K. Senthil, learned standing counsel takes notice for the respondent/TNPSC. 3. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that although the petitioner has passed M.A. (Economics) after the notification dated 10.01.2013, namely, on 31.08.2015, which is 2 years and 7 months after the notification, his name should be considered, since he was permitted to write the written examination on 24.02.2015, which is absolutely unjustified for the simple reason that on the date of notification issued by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission on 10.01.2013 inviting applications for recruitment to the post of Assistant Director of Statistics in Tamil Nadu Statistics Service, the petitioner has admittedly not passed M.A., (Economics), therefore, he was ineligible, even on the date of writing the written examination on 24.12.2013. Therefore, this Court is not able to see any merits in this Writ Petition. Hence, the Writ Petition fails and the same is dismissed. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petitions are also dismissed.
