Judgment 1. The petitioner seeks for a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider and pass orders on his representation dated 20.03.2014 through which he sought for disbursement of retirement and other benefits. 2. The petitioner was working as Laboratory Technician in the Rajah Muthiah Medical College functioning under the first respondent University and submitted a voluntary retirement. Consequently, he was allowed to retire on 30.11.2013. Thereafter, the retirement benefits of the petitioner was not given immediately. Therefore, he made a representation dated 20.03.2014 seeking for disbursement of such benefits. As the same was not considered, he has filed the present Writ Petition. 3. The learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents submitted that the retirement benefits have already been settled to the petitioner and only 50% of the DCRG is yet to be settled to the petitioner. 4. However, the learned counsel for the petitioner is not in a position to confirm as to whether the petitioner was paid the retirement benefits as well as 50% of the DCRG as submitted by the learned counsel for the respondents. 5. Therefore, without expressing any view on the rival claims, this Court only directs the first respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 20.03.2014 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
