body2015
JUDGMENT In the previous order of this Court dated 8 September 2015, specific directions were issued in the following terms for ensuring that an advertisement is issued for filling up the post of Director of the National Central of Experimental Mineralogy and Petrology, an instituion governed by the Allahabad University: “We direct that an advertisement in respect of the post of Director of the NCEMP be issued no later than within a period of two months from the receipt of a certified copy of this order. The University shall take all necessary steps in accordance with law in pursuance of the advertisement. We are not keeping this writ petition pending before this Court, but leave it open to the petitioner to move the Court afresh for appropriate proceedings in the event that there is any delay or neglect on the part of the University for filling up the post of Director. A certified copy of this order be made available to the Acting Vice Chancellor of the University immediately, so as to place him on notice of the need for compliance expeditiously. The petition is, accordingly, disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.” 2. This petition has been filed since no steps have been taken despite passage of two months prescribed by the order of this Court dated 8 September 2015. A letter dated 10 December 2015 has been placed on the record by which the Joint Registrar of the University of Allahabad has stated that an advertisement would be published in the newspapers by 20 January 2016. 3. Since the process has now been initiated, we are not keeping the petition alive any further but expect that the University shall now abide by its assurances. 4. The petition is, accordingly, disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
