Judgment :- 1. Mr.S.Kumar, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the respondent and by consent of both the parties, the main writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission. 2. Heard the learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent. 3. In this writ petition, the petitioner is seeking for a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to consider the petitioner's representations submitted in person on 04.04.2014 and 06.06.2014 made with regard to his promotion as Special Sub-Inspector of Police on par with his batch mates. 4. According to the respondent, there is no impediment for considering his request for promotion to the post of Special Sub-Inspector of Police, as no currency of punishment is in existence as on date. It is for the respondent to consider the request of the petitioner and decide the same on merits and in accordance with law. 5. Therefore, without expressing any view and the claim made by the petitioner, this writ petition is disposed of, only with a direction to the respondent to consider the representations of the petitioner dated 04.04.2014 and 06.06.2014 and pass orders on the same and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
