JUDGMENT : Mansoor Ahmad Mir, J. Mr. Aman Sood, learned counsel for the insurer, on instructions, stated that the appellant is ready and willing to settle the claim by paying Rs.6.00 lacs as compensation, alongwith interest at the rate of 7.5% per annum, from the date of filing of the claim petition till deposit. Mr. Lakshay Thakur, learned counsel for the claimant, stated that the offer supra is acceptable to the claimant. Their statements are taken on record. In view of the above, the appeals are disposed of with the consent of the parties, as settled, by providing that the claimant is entitled to compensation to the tune of Rs.6.00 lacs alongwith interest at the rate of 7.5% per annum from the date of the claim petition till deposit. Learned counsel for the insurer stated that the insurer has already deposited the amount in the Registry. The Registry is directed to release the amount, as above, in favour of the claimant through his bank account, forthwith, and the excess amount, if any, deposited by the insurer, alongwith interest, be refunded to the insurer through payee’s account cheque.
