JUDGMENT : Daya Chaudhary, J. 1. The present writ petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to finalize the case of the petitioner forthwith as the same is being kept pending for the last more than 81/2. years. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that a representation (Annexure P-5) was made by the petitioner but no action has been taken thereupon so far. Two other similarly situated employees, namely, Balwinder Singh and Randhir Singh, have approached this Court by way of filing CWP Nos.12182 and 12285 of 2016, respectively, which have been disposed of vide order dated 04.07.2016 with a direction to the respondents to decide the pending disciplinary proceedings within a period of six months from the date of passing of the order. Learned counsel also submits that the petitioner would be satisfied in case, same directions are issued by this Court in case of the petitioner also. Notice of motion. 3. On the asking of the Court, notice on behalf of the State has been accepted by Mr. R.S. Sidhu, AAG, Punjab. 4. In view of the submissions made by learned counsel for the petitioner and by considering the order passed in aforesaid two petitions, the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the concerned authorities to decide the pending disciplinary proceedings within a period of six months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order, failing which, the entire proceedings including charge sheet shall stand lapsed. 5. Disposed of accordingly.
