JUDGMENT : Daya Chaudhary, J. The prayer in the present petition is for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing respondents to update the General Provident Fund Accounts of the petitioners and to supply them the Annual Statements of said fund accounts showing the upto date amount along with statutory interest as per Rule 13.8 and 13.36 of the Punjab Civil Services Rules Volume II and to deposit the arrears of pay and D.A instalments in their respective General Provident Fund Accounts accrued to them on account of revision of pay scales along with arrears. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that a legal notice was served upon the respondents on 29.04.2016 (Annexure P-2) but the same has not been considered and no action has been taken thereupon so far. Learned counsel further submits that the petitioners would be satisfied, in case, the directions are issued by this Court to consider their legal notice. 3. In view of limited prayer of the petitioners and without commenting anything on the merits of the case, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.3 to consider the legal notice dated 29.04.2016 (Annexure P-2) and take necessary action thereupon in accordance with law within a period of three months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this Order. 4. However, in case, the petitioners are found to be entitled for the relief sought for in the legal notice dated 29.04.2016, the same be granted to them within a period of four months thereafter and in case, they are not entitled for the relief claimed then a speaking order be passed. 5. The petitioners are at liberty to avail the appropriate remedy, if any adverse order is passed. 6. The petition is disposed of accordingly.
