Both the counsel for the parties submit that the issue raised by the petitioner in the present writ petition is squarely covered against him in a judgment rendered by Hon'ble Supreme Court in Municipal Employees Union (Regd.) Sirhind and others Vs. State of Punjab 2009 (2) SCC 432 involving similar questions of fact and law. 2. In terms of the decision rendered by the Hon'ble Supreme Court, the present petition is disposed of. 3. The learned counsel of petitioner submits that the claim of the respondents would be considered for the period till September 2006. 4. The arrears are restricted to 38 months prior to filing of the petition by the respondents. The same shall be calculated and disbursed within a period of 6 months.
