JUDGMENT : DAYA CHAUDHARY, J. 1. The prayer in the present petition is for issuance of direction to the respondent authorities not to make further promotion to the posts of Excise and Taxation Officers amongst the Ministerial Staff. A further prayer has also been made for issuance of a writ in the nature of certiorari for quashing of impugned order of promotion to the posts of Excise and Taxation Officers. 2. Learned counsel for the respondent-State, on instructions from Vinay Behal, Senior Scale Stenographer, Excise and Taxation Department, submits that the petitioners as well as private respondents are no more in service as all of them have retired. 3. Keeping in view the prayer and the claim sought for, nothing survives in the present petition. 4. The petition is accordingly dismissed as infructuous.
